Mitzvah Senior CareCompassionate Home Care for the Jewish Community
Paying caregivers more so you receive better care and less turnover
About Us
Born from personal experience and a deep commitment to our community, Mitzvah Senior Care was founded to provide the compassionate, culturally-aware care that every family deserves. Explore our care services or learn what makes us different.
Ayal Abrams
Founder
When my mother was diagnosed with dementia, our family faced one of the most challenging periods of our lives. Finding quality care that understood and respected our Jewish traditions seemed nearly impossible.
We encountered caregivers who didn't understand our culture, and at times, even faced antisemitism. The constant turnover meant my mother had to continuously adapt to new faces—something especially difficult for someone with dementia.
Everything changed when we found Kezia. Her compassion, dedication, and genuine understanding of what it means to care for someone transformed our experience. She became part of our family.
That experience inspired me to create Mitzvah Senior Care—so no family in our community has to go through what we did. Get in touch to start your care journey.
Kezia K Baribumpe
CNA, Nursing Student & Care Training Director
Originally from Uganda, Kezia brings a unique perspective to caregiving that's rooted in deep community values. In her culture, caring for elders isn't just a job—it's a sacred responsibility.
"No one should walk through life alone. Every person deserves to be surrounded by care, compassion, and dignity—especially in their golden years."
As a Certified Nursing Assistant pursuing her nursing degree, Kezia combines clinical expertise with genuine warmth. She now leads our caregiver training program, ensuring every member of our team embodies the same values that make her exceptional.
Her approach focuses on seeing the whole person—their history, their preferences, their family, and their faith—not just their care needs.

The Mitzvah Care Fund
The dignity of aging at home should not be a privilege for the few. Learn more about our mission or explore our care services.
We believe that every senior in our community deserves quality care, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Mitzvah Care Fund was created to ensure that no one has to choose between proper care and financial hardship. The Family Caregiver Alliance reports that family caregivers often face significant financial strain.
Personal Attention Makes the Difference
In most care facilities, the caregiver-to-resident ratio is often 8:1 or worse. That means your loved one shares attention with seven other people.
With Mitzvah Senior Care, your loved one receives dedicated, one-on-one attention in the comfort of their own home.
Sliding Scale Options
For families facing financial challenges, we offer sliding scale fees based on ability to pay.
Community-Funded Support
In cases of true financial hardship, we provide care at no cost through our community fund.
Dignity in Every Home
Every senior deserves to age with dignity, surrounded by care.
If you or someone you know could benefit from the Mitzvah Care Fund, please reach out. All inquiries are handled with complete confidentiality.
